About The Paintings

I composed these two paintings because I was inspired by Mr. Peter Sakievich, who was my tutor in SCAD. His technique intrigued me a lot. These items are mostly my personal belongings. As for the stuffed animals, I acquired them when I was very young. I played a lot with them even until now and I have a deep bonding with them.

I used brownish colours for the background, so that it contrasts with the objects. The brownish colour helps to emphasise the shadow and lights.

I spent a lot of time refining over and over to ensure the items in the painting are in high quality and detailed. A good example would be the eye of the elephant, I first painted a big black circle and I put a small white circle on top of it, so that it could give people the shiny impression.

I was very satisfied with these two paintings and I would like to improve in the coming years, so that my paintings would be higher quality. I would practice more on perfecting the shadows and soften lines in the future.
